Even today, the urban landscapes of Phnom Penh are haunted by the Khmer Rouge years and the violence of the past. The film Double fantôme (Double ghost, 2018, 35 min) by Rafael Medeiros questions the work of the ghost that touches the life of beings and things, but also the city of Phnom Penh. The title “Double ghost” refers to several levels of meaning: to the double screen device (installation projected at the Faux Mouvement contemporary art centers in Metz and Bophana in Phnom Penh), to the story of two victims of the Khmer Rouge and finally to “ghosts of the past and ghosts of the future”.
Original soundtrack by Arthur Braganti.
